This major prepares students to work as architects, town planners, spatial planners, civil engineers and investment project managers. This field of study is one of the most engaging due to an interesting combination of the elements of technical knowledge, broad general knowledge and fine arts. This profile meets the high demands of the modern job market which seeks not only highly-qualified specialists but also readiness for constant professional changes.
The modern architect is not only a designer who creates building plans, city parts, or regional planning assumptions. Nowadays, he is often the manager of the whole investment process and, therefore must deal with urban engineering, property development and landscape architecture. The architect is sometimes a creator of specialist computer programs, an academic, or a civil servant. The graduate is prepared to begin a master's degree program.
The master's degree program develops all of the qualities possessed by graduates of the bachelor's degree program.
The aim of the master's degree program is to form a creative and professional personality of the architect. Such an architect is a well-qualified specialist with knowledge of architectural , urban and restoration design, as well as spatial planning , urban planning theories, fine arts, technical sciences, and humanities.
The graduate is prepared to work as an architectural designer or urban planner in architectural studios, local and public administration units and scientific research institutions. After having obtained a degree and an architect's license, the graduate is able to independently design and manage architectural construction works, coordinate work in multi-branch design teams, run architectural design studios and urban planning companies, or be self-employed.
The graduate may apply for an architect, town planner and building contractor licenses, according to the requirements of the appropriate chamber.
