Graphic design - UNIFORM MASTER’S STUDIES

Graphics - Studies in Silesia province - Katowice

Master’s degree (MA) - 5 years, 10 semesters

The major prepares graduates to freelance in the field of graphic design. Graduates can also continue their education. The graduate will acquire knowledge, technical and artistic skills concerning graphics and related fields, which will allow him/her to work both independently and in a team.

The graduate will possess interdisciplinary knowledge concerning art history, history of culture and civilization, ethics, aesthetics, and philosophy. The curriculum encompasses knowledge of the legal provisions concerning intellectual property and copyright laws, marketing , management, and advertising. Graduates of this major will be experts in the field of creation. They will use both traditional graphic techniques and multimedia techniques and technologies. Graduates are prepared to carry out different types of multimedia productions using image, text, animation, sound and film.

The graduates' skills meet the current and future demands of employers, taking into account the constant need for creative graphic specialists, who make use of specialized computer programs. Having finished the studies, the graduate can work or become a freelancer in, media (TV, radio, press), graphic agencies, advertising agencies, publishing houses, printing houses, cultural institutions as well as other institutions and companies with similar scope of activity.

GRAPHIC DESIGN CANDIDATE SHOULD:


  • Have artistic talent, creativity and a sense of aesthetics and colors
  • Have interesting ideas and a desire to implement them
  • Be familiar with art, painting, film animation, design, as well as philosophy and marketing

The speciality is chosen at the third year and formed for the group of at least 15 students.
