This major is directed towards students for whom closed space can be an area of creation. The major is also addressed to people who are interested in modern interior design and want to broaden their interests, theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The applicants should have basic artistic skills. Graduates possess thorough knowledge and artistic skills necessary to professionally design and arrange the following interiors: residential, office, public utility facilities (banks, hotels, restaurants) and special-purpose facilities (health centers, hospitals, churches etc.) The aim of these studies is to educate interior designers who will be prepared to work both individually and in a team when it comes to interior design and organizing the designing activity.
Graduates will obtain a bachelor's degree. Students can continue their education at master's degree courses.
The graduate of this major obtains the title of Master of Fine Arts.
The main objective of the master's degree courses is stimulating the development process of the students' creative personality. The broadening and deepening of the different issues at master's degree level, enhances consciousness of premises which influence the graduate's creative, organizational and decision-making activities. The need to educate the youth at master's degree level is manifested by: deepening the knowledge and improving designing and exhibition skills, obtaining a higher degree of consciousness concerning relationships between different disciplines and artistic trends which are part of the designing process, understanding the social character of the creative work and the social responsibility which goes along with it, and understanding and taking into account the functional and compositional relationships between the areas of the architectural space built by man according to the following sequence: region – city – urban interior – architectural structure (building – architectural interior - artistic work.
The consciousness of all these aspects will allow graduates of this major to make correct decisions, based on rational premises rather than on intuition.
