About School
On November 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., in the Senate Hall of the Academy of Silesia at 43 Rolna Street in Katowice, a public defense of a doctoral dissertation in the field of art, in the discipline of fine arts and art conservation, took place.
We are very pleased to announce that this was the first doctoral defense conducted at the Faculty of Architecture, Construction, and Applied Arts of the Academy of Silesia— an exceptional and symbolic event in the history of our Faculty.
Karol Gawroński, MA, presented his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Mechanics of Everyday Events. The Myth of Everyday Life.”
The supervisor was:

• Dr. Kinga Nowak, Prof. ASP – Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow
• Dr. Krzysztof Polkowski, Prof. ASP – Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk
• Dr. Igor Przybylski, Prof. ASP – Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
The works accompanying the dissertation were exhibited at the Antresola Gallery of the Academy of Silesia and are available for viewing by anyone interested.
