What should be prepared before making an account on the recruitment portal?
- Secondary school-leaving certificate or other document obtained abroad, entitling to apply for admission to studies at any type of higher education institution in the country in which the institution issuing the certificate operated, recognized in accordance with regulations or on the basis of international agreements, as equivalent to the relevant Polish secondary school-leaving certificate.
- apostille is a confirmation that a document comes from an appropriate office - it determines authenticity. Thanks to this, you can use it abroad. An apostille is suitable if the document is to be used abroad in a country that is party to the Hague Convention from 1961 about Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
- legalization is carried out if a document is to be intended for legal circulation in a country which is not a party to the Hague Convention from 1961 about Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
- documents issued abroad (apart from the IB diploma and EB diploma) that have an apostille or are legalized in the country of issue must be translated by a sworn translator into Polish or English or the translation should be certified by a Polish consul (the document translated into English must be translated into Polish by the beginning of classes).
- other documents drawn up in a language other than Polish should also have sworn translation into Polish or English or the translation should be certified by a Polish consul (the document translated into English must be translated into Polish by the beginning of classes).
- Candidates for studies in Polish, who are foreigners, must present an official document as proof of knowledge of Polish. The documents can be the following:
- a graduation certificate issued within the framework of the Polish education system
- a diploma of completing studies in Polish at a Polish university or
- a certificate confirming knowledge of Polish on a language fluency level of at least B2 issued by:
- State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency of Polish as a Foreign Language or
- a certified by the minister in charge of higher education and science to organize examinations of Polish language as a foreign language on a specified level of language fluency or
- a Polish or foreign institution of higher education that offers studies in Polish Philology or
- a Polish or foreign entity, which has for at least three years been conducting Polish language or Polish as a foreign language lectureships or courses or other didactic courses in Polish
- In the absence of an honored document, the candidate will be invited to take an entrance test in Polish at B2 level.
- Candidate for studies in a language other than Polish, whose native language is not the language of instruction, shall present one of the following documents:
- Diploma from a teacher training college for foreign languages or a diploma from philology studies with the language of instruction.
- Another document (e.g., a grade on the transcript confirming completion of language instruction at a level of at least B2 during studies).
- Diploma from studies conducted in the language of instruction.
- Grade from the language of instruction on the IB or EB diploma.
- For the countries listed below, English proficiency at level B2 is also confirmed by grades in English on the high school diploma equal to or higher than grade 4 in the Polish school system:

What do you need to do to apply for studies?
- Create an account on the recruitment portal and complete candidate profile information.
- Apply for the chosen course of study.
- Attach required documents and an electronic biometric proof photograph,
- Make the recruitment fee payment to the individual bank account number generated on the candidate's profile and attach the payment confirmation.
After completion of the steps, expect to receive a message about the results of the recruitment process. This will appear on your individual account on the recruitment portal.
What should be prepared after receiving admission information?
- Original document entitling to apply for admission to studies bearing apostille / with legalization – for inspection,
- Sworn translation of the document entitling to apply for admission to studies bearing apostille / with legalization – for inspection,
- nostrification is the procedure for recognizing a secondary school-leaving certificate obtained in a secondary school in another country. It is performed at a selected Board of Education in Poland.
- nostrification covers certificates obtained in countries with which Poland has not concluded bilateral agreements on recognizing education obtained abroad as equivalent to education obtained in Poland.
- Original document certifying knowledge of the language of instruction at B2 level – for inspection,
- a foreigner going to study in Poland should have a document confirming the possession of a health insurance policy or the European Health Insurance Card for a given academic year, or coverage of general health insurance within the meaning of the provisions of the Act of 27 August 2004 on health care services financed from public funds, or confirmation of coverage by the insurer of costs treatment in the territory of the Republic of Poland
- the university issues a document confirming admission to studies in the full-time mode that allows you to apply for a visa or other document confirming the right to stay in Poland
- 1 biometric proof photograph (3.5cm x 4.5cm format) meeting the criteria specified on the website: https://www.gov.pl/web/gov/zdjecie-do-dowodu-or-paszportu,
- Confirmation of enrollment fee payment on paper,
- ID card – for inspection,
- in the case of people with disabilities - a document confirming the degree of disability – for inspection,
- Medical certificate with an opinion stating no health contraindications for pursuing studies in the selected field, issued/signed by a specialist in occupational medicine – applies only to nursing and medical rescue. The certificate must be issued on a form referring to the regulations of the Minister of Health dated August 26, 2019, regarding medical examinations for candidates to post-secondary or higher education institutions, as well as qualifying vocational courses, students, participants of qualifying vocational courses, and doctoral students. The certificate should indicate the ability to study in the selected field and the validity period of the certificate – referral for medical examinations are issued at the Admissions Office from the start of the recruitment process.*
Submit the aforementioned documents to the Academy of Silesia (Katowice, 43 Rolna Street) within the specified deadline to confirm your willingness to study by signing an agreement for the provision of education services.
The agreement can be signed electronically (using Autenti/electronic qualified signature) on the condition that the original documents are presented beforehand.
* Referrals for medical examinations are issued at the Recruitment Office from the start of the recruitment process. The medical certificate must be submitted to the Recruitment Office no later than September 16, 2024.
