DIPLOMA
  • secondary school-leaving certificate or other document obtained abroad, entitling to apply for admission to studies at any type of higher education institution in the country in which the institution issuing the certificate operated, recognized in accordance with regulations or on the basis of international agreements, as equivalent to the relevant Polish secondary school-leaving certificate
2. APOSTILLE/
LEGALIZATION
  • apostille is a confirmation that a document comes from an appropriate office - it determines authenticity. Thanks to this, you can use it abroad. An apostille is suitable if the document is to be used abroad in a country that is party to the Hague Convention from 1961 about Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
  • legalization is carried out if a document is to be intended for legal circulation in a country which is not a party to the Hague Convention from 1961 about Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents.
3. SWORN TRANSLATION OF DOCUMENTS
  • secondary school-leaving certificate and other documents issued abroad (apart from the IB diploma and EB diploma) that have an apostille or are legalized in the country of issue must be translated by a sworn translator or the translation should be certified by a Polish consul
  • other documents drawn up in a language other than Polish should also be translated by a Polish sworn translator or the translation should be certified by a Polish consul
4. LEGALISATION
OF STAY
  • a visa or a residence card or another document entitling to stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland (after fulfilling the recruitment conditions (information can be found in the recruitment steps - step 4 table below), the university issues a document confirming admission to studies in the full-time mode that allows you to apply for a visa or other document confirming the right to stay in Poland)
5. NOSTRIFICATION
  • nostrification is the procedure for recognizing a secondary school-leaving certificate obtained in a secondary school in another country. It is performed at a selected Board of Education in Poland.
  • nostrification covers certificates obtained in countries with which Poland has not concluded bilateral agreements on recognizing education obtained abroad as equivalent to education obtained in Poland.
6. LANGUAGE
  • a document/certificate confirming the knowledge of English language at B2 level (applies to candidates for studies conducted in English) it must be translated into Polish by a sworn translator
  • a document/certificate confirming the knowledge of the Polish language at B2 level (applies to candidates for studies conducted in Polish) it must be translated into Polish by a sworn translator
  • in the absence of the above-mentioned documents, the candidate takes the English or Polish language test at B2 level (according to the recruitment schedule)

7. HEALTH INSURANCE
  • a foreigner going to study in Poland should have a document confirming the possession of a health insurance policy or the European Health Insurance Card for a given academic year, or coverage of general health insurance within the meaning of the provisions of the Act of 27 August 2004 on health care services financed from public funds), or confirmation of coverage by the insurer of costs treatment in the territory of the Republic of Poland)

  • sworn translation of the certificate and all other documents
  • a visa or a residence card or another document entitling to stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland (for inspection)
  • ID card or other document confirming the identity (for inspection)
  • 1 biometric photograph (3.5cm x 4.5cm; details link
  • document /certificate confirming the knowledge of English or Polish language at B2 level (for inspection)
  • a document confirming health insurance (for inspection)
  • a medical certificate containing a statement that there are no contraindications to study in the selected field, issued by an occupational medicine doctor, should be delivered within the time limit set by the University. Referrals for medical examinations are issued at the Recruitment Office from the date of commencement of the recruitment procedure or on the date of signing the contract; the original medical certificate should be delivered to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze until 30.09.2023
  • the contract may be signed electronically (e - Autenti signature / qualified signature); the candidate is obliged to present the original school-leaving examination certificate by 30.09.2023 at the latest, failure to submit the document will result in removal from the list of students

STUDIES CONDUCTED IN POLISH OR ENGLISH


The acceptance threshold takes into account the limit of admissions given to Academy of Silesia on an ordinance of the Minister of Health on the limit of admissions to the medical and medical-dental field of study.

Matriculation results of people with foreign certificates as well as the results from the EB diploma and IB diploma will be converted into qualification points according to the rules contained in the Resolution of the Senate of the University of Technology.

The Admissions Committee makes a ranking list of candidates in the order of the number of qualification points awarded

Candidates who have EB or IB diploma or a certificate or foreign high school diploma are required to provide proof of passing a mtriculation examination from biology (compulsory subject) and the second subject in the following order: chemistry, physics, mathematics.

The maximum number of points that can be obtained is 100 points per subject.

Candidates who have no matriculation examination in the subject of biology (required) or a second subject: chemistry, physics, mathematics, take a university placement examination from the following: biology (required) and a second subject – chemistry at the advanced level of a maturity examination and will be qualified based on the results from said placement examination.

Candidates for studies with a foreign high school certificate and foreigners: an application with a scan of a legalized or apostille secondary school-leaving certificate along with a sworn translation of the certificate into Polish should be submitted no later than by 04.03.2024, only by e-mail to rekrutacja@akademiaslaska.pl
