CANDIDATES WITH POLISH MATURITY EXAMS – MEDICINE (LONG-CYCLE MASTER’S STUDIES)

FORM OF STUDIES: FULL-TIME, PART-TIME
FIRST CYCLE STUDIES (BACHELOR, ENGINEERING), UNIFORM MASTER’SCANDIDATES HOLDING A MATURITY CERTIFICATE ISSUED AFTER 2005

Admission to studies is based on the results of the written secondary school-leaving exam ("new maturity exam") in two of the following four subjects: biology, chemistry, physics (physics and astronomy), mathematics, while observing the hierarchy:

  • Maturity exam at extended level
  • Maturity exam at basic level

Qualification covers two different subjects.

For candidates who have taken the written secondary school-leaving exam in more than two subjects listed above, the results of the two best subjects are considered, while observing the hierarchy:

  • Two subjects at the extended level
  • One subject at the extended level, the other at the basic level
  • Two subjects at the basic level

The admissions committee prepares a ranking list of candidates in order of the number of points obtained, following the hierarchy specified above.

The results of the secondary school-leaving exam - expressed as percentages - are converted according to the principle:

  • Extended level - result on the certificate (1% = 1 qualification point);
  • Basic level - result on the certificate divided by 2 (1% = 0.5 qualification points)

The maximum number of points to be obtained is 100 points per subject.

FORM OF STUDIES: FULL-TIME, PART-TIME
FIRST CYCLE STUDIES (BACHELOR, ENGINEERING), UNIFORM MASTER’SCANDIDATES HOLDING A MATURITY CERTIFICATE ISSUED UNTIL 2005

Candidates holding a maturity certificate (“old maturity certificate”) will be assessed based on grades from the maturity examination converted into qualification points from the following subjects: biology (biology with hygiene), chemistry, physics, mathematics in written form. In the absence of written exams, the oral form of exams will be considered.

The number of qualification points (QP) for the "old maturity certificate" is calculated according to the formula QP = w1 + w2, where:

w - represents the grade for two subjects chosen from: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics

- for the written part of the maturity examination divided by 2,

when not available

- for the oral part of the maturity examination divided by 4, with the results of the maturity examination given in grades converted into points according to the principle:

In cases where there is no grade for the written exam in a particular subject on the maturity examination, but such a grade is considered in the recruitment rules, the grade for the oral exam is accepted instead, and vice versa, when there is no grade for the oral exam in a particular subject, the grade for the written exam is accepted.

If a candidate has a certificate of results from the maturity examination in specific subjects from the Regional Examination Board (OKE), as referred to in the Act of September 7, 1991, on the education system, then the results obtained by them will be converted by the admissions committee on a scale of 1 percent = 1 point and assigned to subjects and levels of the maturity examination / "new maturity". For this purpose, the candidate is required to attach scans of documents entitling them to apply for admission to studies, as well as other documents required to commence studies in the country of their issue, to their individual candidate account on the recruitment portal.
